About BMX Crew Hub

Built by Riders, for Riders

At BMX Crew Hub, we don’t just sell BMX bikes and gear; we live and breathe the sport. Since 2018, we’ve been fueling the passion of riders worldwide, from street shredders to dirt jumpers, with top-tier equipment, expert advice, and an unshakable commitment to the BMX community.

Our Company

It all started with a beat-up bike, a local crew, and a big idea.

Back in 2018, our founder, Michael Brooks, a lifelong BMX rider, got tired of big-box stores selling overpriced, low-quality bikes while ignoring the heart of BMX culture. After years of wrenching on bikes in his garage and organizing underground ride sessions, he decided to build something better, a true hub for riders, by riders.

What began as a small online shop run out of a storage unit quickly grew into a trusted name in BMX, thanks to word-of-mouth from riders who valued our:

  • Hands-on expertise (every team member rides hard).

  • No-nonsense quality (we test every product we sell).

  • Relentless support for local crews, events, and up-and-coming riders.

Six years later, we’re still 100% independent, still obsessed with progression, and still hooked on that feeling of landing a new trick.

Why Ride With Us?

✅ Real Rider Tested – Every bike, part, and accessory in our shop is vetted by our team (and our crew of sponsored athletes).
✅ Community First – We host jams, sponsor events, and keep the stoke alive with free tutorials and rider spotlights.
✅ No Corporate BS – Just honest advice, fair prices, and gear that won’t let you down mid-air.

Our Roots: A Rebellion Against Mediocre BMX

BMX Crew Hub was born in 2018 from a simple truth: real riders deserve better.

Founder Michael Brooks, a former amateur competitor turned bike mechanic, was fed up with:

  • Big brands selling cookie-cutter “BMX-style” bikes that couldn’t survive a real session

  • Online retailers with zero riding experience are pushing whatever makes the highest profit.

  • Local shops are closing, leaving riders with nowhere to get expert advice

The breaking point came when Michael Brooks witnessed a 14-year-old at his local park eating concrete due to faulty aftermarket pegs. That night, he maxed out his credit card on inventory and launched BMX Crew Hub from his apartment – just 5 complete bikes, a toolbox, and a YouTube channel offering free repair tutorials.

The Grind: How We Earned Our Stripes (2018-2020)

Those first two years were true BMX hustle:

  • Pop-Up Shop Days: We’d roll our inventory to skateparks in a rented U-Haul

  • “Demo or Die” Testing: Every product is ridden hard by our team before we sell it

  • Midnight Builds: Customers would call at 11 PM needing parts for weekend comps. We’d deliver

Our big break came when pro rider James tagged us in a post about our custom wheel builds. Within 48 hours, we’d sold out of all our inventory, and more importantly, proved that riders wanted expertise over corporate markup.
